Patch Notes - Version 1.4.5


We interrupt your daily flight to bring you a new patch. This minor patch slightly modifies the Stinger and the Hetz, two enemies that have been causing pilots everywhere a little more trouble than intended. The Hetz received the most changes overall.

Version 1.4.5 also fixes multiple reported issues, two crashes, and some bosses having more combat dialogue than intended. It also adds a gamepad functionality to detonate rockets with the same button used to launch them. If anyone wants this change on Keyboard & Mouse, let me know.

Finally, a lot of slight visual modifications were made across the game. Background colors are more saturated, and the map has more clearly defined colors for each area too. The background vignette was also changed into an ellipse shape instead of a rounded rectangle.

Balance:

Note 1: All values are for (Trial Run, Standard Test, Stress Test, Trial by Fire), respectively.
Note 2: The Hetz boosts when traveling, and flies normally while attacking.

  • Decreased the boost rotation speed of the Stinger from (1, 2, 3, 3) down to (0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 2.5).
  • Decreased the damage of the Stinger's Energy Spike from (2, 4, 6, 8) down to (1, 3, 5, 7).
  • Decreased the boost speed of the Hetz from (16, 19, 19, 19) down to (16, 17, 18, 19).
  • Decreased the boost rotation speed of the Hetz from (5, 6, 6, 6) down to (3, 3.5, 4, 4.5).
  • Decreased the rotation speed of the Hetz from (3, 4, 4, 4) down to (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5).
  • Increased the hitbox size of the Behemoth's Generators.   

Main Menu:

  • Added a button to change the language.
  • You can freely swap between English and Spanish.

Visuals:

  • Modified the background Vignette to have an ellipse shape instead of a rounded rectangle.
  • Modified the background colors of each Area in the game.
  • Modified the colors of each Area in the map.

Campaign:

  • Added an item locator to a Landing Pad Interface on Chapter 5.
    • When turned on, it will mark every room in the game that has a collectible item.
    • It is entirely optional, and can be turned On and Off at any point after finding it.

Hel's Fighters:

  • An error kept the Bomber's price at 35,000 J instead of 40,000 J. The price will be kept at 35,000 J.

Options:

  • Added a Gamepad Control Option to detonate rockets with the same button used to fire them.
    • Originally the plan was to also add it as a setting for Keyboard & Mouse, but I ran into space issues.
    • I cannot physically add the option unless I remove another, or place the button on top of the title.
    • Reorganizing the buttons side-by-side is not possible because pressing left/right will change the button's value.
    • If anyone is interested in this functionality for Keyboard & Mouse anyways, let me know.

Bugs:

  • Fixed several dummy doors opening after the final battle in Rebel Ops, causing a crash when trying to open them.
  • Fixed a crash when closing the game window during a specific bossfight in the Campaign.
    • Not critical, as it only crashed the game when closing the game.
  • Fixed a specific boss in the Campaign speaking more than intended.
  • Fixed a specific enemy in Rebel Ops speaking more than intended.
  • Fixed Orange Disruptor Missiles not dealing damage as intended.
  • Fixed Orange Disruptor Missiles changing their target's coloring erratically.
  • Fixed various typos on the Hel's Fighters hub prompt screen.
  • Fixed the Quad Drone's Shipyard entry.
  • Fixed the Spinner II's aiming code.
  • Fixed an error that caused enemies to collide with the Charge Weapon's animation.
    • This was causing a bug with the Stinger where they would stop while using the charge minigun.
    • In worse-case-scenarios, the Stinger would stop with its Energy Spike inside the player.
    • This would often lead to higher-than-intended damage output from the Stinger.

Techical Changes:

  • Updated the Input library to version 6.0.4.
  • Slight optimizations in the main menu code.
  • If the player ends up out of bounds, they will be teleported to the closest door.
  • Optimized the background management code when pausing and unpausing the game.
  • Optimized the background movement code.


How to update the game manually:

  1. Download the new version.
  2. Delete the old game folder. Aerostrike's save files are stored in a separate folder, so it is safe to delete the old game files.
  3. Create a new Aerostrike folder.
  4. Extract the game files inside the new folder.
