Patch Notes - Hotfix 1.3.1
We interrupt your daily flight to bring a quick hotfix. While working on gamepad code improvements, I found several critical bugs that had to be patched out.
Namely, an issue where Gamepads would not register analog stick input if you had modified the Axis Inversion setting in the Options Menu. Would you believe that was caused by one variable being assigned 0 instead of -1?
Aside of that, various other bugs and issues have been fixed, and some QoL changes made to Chapter 1 and the audio balancing of explosions. I'll keep an eye out for any more bugs and will fix them ASAP.
Here is a full list of patch notes:
Additions:
- Added a room with a dock in the first portion of the Demo map.
Audio:
- Decreased the volume of explosion sounds when multiple enemy rockets and/or flak shells triggered at the same time.
- Modified the audio of a boss battle that shot a lot of rockets and missiles. The missiles are now silent to avoid excesive noise
- If anyone has any other audio suggestions or feedback, do let me know and I'll look into it.
Campaign:
- Moved the zone trigger of a battle in Chapter 1, Area 1 to make it less punishing for wandering players.
- A battle in Chapter 1, Area 3 can now be triggered earlier. It will not affect anyone that has already done the battle.
- The progression tied to that battle has also been slightly modified.
- It should not cause any problems to old or new save files, if you can even spot the difference.
Bugs:
- Fixed an issue where changing Gamepad Analog Stick settings would break movement and aiming input with a Gamepad.
- Fixed an objective pulse triggering earlier than intended during Chapter 1.
- Fixed the displayed Gamepad weapon swap button prompt when picking up the Energy Cannon.
- Fixed the displayed Gamepad interaction button prompt on the Demo map.
- Fixed a bug where the last door of the Demo would not open when pressing the Gamepad interaction button.
Techical Changes:
- Modified a Failsafe Killswitch built into the game. It will now simply pause the game if it detects critically low framerate.
- Internal changes for a future improvement of Gamepad Support.
- Should not impact gameplay, but might make the game file a bit bigger until it is fully implemented.
How to update the game manually:
- Download the new version.
- Delete the old game folder. Aerostrike's save files are stored in a separate folder, so it is safe to delete the old game files.
- Create a new Aerostrike folder.
- Extract the game files inside the new folder.
For anyone affected by the analog stick bug:
- Go to the Options Menu.
- Open the Gamepad submenu.
- Go to Analog Sticks
- Press the Invert Movement and Invert Aiming buttons a few times.
- Select your desired setting for Invert Movement and Invert Aiming.
- Save the changes. This overwrites the incorrectly saved value without resetting all your options.
If anyone is met with any sort of weird bug, or simply thinks that explosions should be louder, feel free to leave a comment, send an email to the support address, or contact me via twitter. Stay safe pilots!
