Patch Notes - Version 1.2.8
We interrupt your daily flight to bring a small patch. It adds Ambience Sounds; background noise that creates an extra layer of atmosphere to the various areas in Aerostrike. You can adjust their volume in the Options menu, as well as various other new settings.
On the topic of the Options menu, it was reorganized to create more space for more settings in the future. In particular, I needed some space to fit gamepad/controller settings later down the line. Now if only I could find an affordable and reliable gamepad to start working with...
Here is a full list of patch notes:
Additions:
- Added ambience sounds to the game. They are background noises meant to add to the atmosphere of the game.
- You can adjust various ambience sound settings in the Options Menu.
Campaign:
- Certain unacquirable items will now disappear during Chapter 5 for storytelling and clarity purposes.
- It should not have a direct impact to gameplay, as those items were unacquirable and did not count towards collection challenges.
- Some non-obstructive barriers will also disappear for the same purpose.
Options:
- Added a volume slider to change the volume of ambience sounds.
- Added a volume slider to change the volume of music and ambience when pausing the game.
- Added an option to change the menu music.
- Added an option to select whether to play ambience sounds during combat or not.
- Added an option to select whether to play ambience sounds in menus or not.
- Renamed the Interface menu into UI Settings.
- Reorganized the Options Menu to better fit current and future settings.
- Audio settings have been split into Volume and Audio.
- UI Settings, Dialogue, and Camera settings have been merged into an "Interface" menu.
Bugs:
- Fixed a bug where certain doors in Area 7 would incorrectly appear as open in the map when the generator had low power.
- The doors were properly shut down in the actual game, so no changes were made there.
- Fixed a bug where the Demo map would show the incorrect map.
- Only affected the release version of the game.
Techical Changes:
- Various Options Menu hotkey and text corrections.
How to update the game manually:
- Download the new version.
- Delete the old game folder. Aerostrike's save files are stored in a separate folder, so it is safe to delete the old game files.
- Create a new Aerostrike folder.
- Extract the game files inside the new folder.
If anyone is met with any sort of weird bug, or simply thinks that next year I should make a dedicated Halloween patch, feel free to leave a comment, send an email to the support address, or contact me via twitter. Stay safe pilots!
Edit:
Hotfix 1.2.8.1 has been deployed to address the following issues:
- Fixed enemy explosives not dealing any damage to the player.
- Fixed the Paladin's shipyard text overflowing from its textbox.
Thanks again to Rusty CLWK for reporting these critical issues. You can check the game's version under the title in the Main Menu. Make sure you are running version 1.2.8.1 for the best gameplay experience. Sorry for the inconvenience.
