Patch Notes- Alpha 0.1.0


We interrupt your daily grub to bring you a new Potatostrike patch.

Mission 2 has finally arrived! Picking up right where mission 1 left off, the Potatostrike leads an assault into an Harvesting Station orbiting a nearby Ice planet. It looks like Starchless intends to repurpose it to destroy all nearby planets. We must put a stop to this plan.

Additionally, a lot of bugs and errors were fixed, and I mean a lot. A screenshot functionality was also added! Get a cool action shot, or show off your friends your high score (while I figure out how to make a built-in highscore tracking system) with the press of a button!

Here's a full list of patch notes:

Bugs:

  • Fixed pressing Pause while in the Upgrade menu forcing it to close. Let me know if you want to see this added as a feature!
  • Fixed the Hunter's hitbox being larger than intended.
  • Fixed the Laser not always hitting the closest enemy first.
  • Fixed the Mouse Cursor not resetting correctly when pausing and unpausing the game.
  • Fixed enemies taking damage from projectiles even when the game was paused.

Additions:

  • Added Mission 2. Unlocked after finishing Mission 1 on any ending.

Changes:

  • Ordnance now makes a positional sound as it flies by the Potatostrike.
  • Particle effects now remain on screen when pausing the game.
  • Changed the space background of Mission 1.

Technical Changes:

  • Improved the Laser beam hitscan code.
  • Optimized the "player hit" sound code.
  • Added a save file system that stores your progress. Later iterations will also keep track of high scores and, hopefully, unlockables.
